And that story comes from Suup Zulu, born and raised in Alexandra Township, who takes the mic in a way only he can; having a conversation with himself. The title “EY WEN” translates to “Hey You” in Zulu/Township slang, and in the track, Suup literally plays both parts: an internal dialog trying to come to a decision.
The dialogue is simple but vivid:
"Hey you... you want a beer?"
It’s that inner tug-of-war we all know; should you go out tonight? Should you hit the party?
